The Illinois Power Agency is seeking a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Partnerships Manager to help foster the growth of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the expanding clean energy economy of Illinois. Under direction of the Agency Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer, the DEI Partnerships Manager will be responsible for overseeing outreach efforts, stakeholder engagement, and partnership development. Additionally, the DEI Partnerships Manager will supervise the DEI Outreach Associate efforts, ensuring their work aligns with strategic goals and promoting effective collaboration within the team.
This position will have a specialized focus on executing equity-informed strategies to increase access for communities and individuals who have been excluded from economic opportunities within the clean energy sector. The ideal candidate will combine a passion for relationship-building with a strong commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The Illinois Power Agency is an independent State Agency created in 2007 to develop annual electricity procurement plans and renewable resources procurement plans and to conduct procurement events to ensure adequate, reliable, affordable, efficient, and environmentally sustainable electric service for the default supply customers of Illinois electric utilities. The Illinois Power Agency is seeking an Administrative Assistant responsible for providing multifunctional support to the Agency’s Legal Bureau. Under direction of the IPA Chief Legal Counsel, the Administrative Assistant will provide comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Legal Bureau, ensuring the efficient functioning of daily activities. Key responsibilities include preparing and formatting legal documents, maintaining confidential records, coordinating meetings and legal proceedings, and handling internal and external communications. The position also involves data entry, basic legal research, and responding to public inquiries and FOIA requests. A strong emphasis is placed on confidentiality, compliance with legal standards, and adherence to departmental policies.

Legislative Affairs Manager - Hybrid, Springfield or Chicago

The Illinois Power Agency (“IPA/Agency”) is seeking a Legislative Affairs Manager to work out of its Springfield or Chicago offices.
The Legislative Affairs Manager position will offer a unique opportunity to work on cutting edge legislative and energy policy issues at both state and local levels with a specific focus on monitoring legislative developments in the Illinois General Assembly. The Legislative Affairs Manager will serve as the Agency’s legislative liaison and will be responsible for representing the IPA before elected officials at both the state and local levels, including maintaining relationships with elected officials and their staff.
The Legislative Affairs Manager will coordinate with Agency subject-matter experts on bill analyses and manage the IPA’s legislative agenda, including tracking proposed legislation. This position will also be responsible for developing strategies to promote and effectively communicate achievements from the IPA’s two solar incentive programs, renewable energy procurements, energy procurements, and work advancing equity in the clean energy economy.
The Legislative Affairs Manager will report to the Director of External Affairs but is also expected to work closely with the Agency Director, Chief Strategy & Communications Officer, Chief Legal Counsel, Planning & Procurement Bureau Chief, and other key Agency staff. While this position offers the flexibility of a remote work environment, weekly travel to Springfield to cover Illinois General Assembly session days in-person is required. Additional travel may be required for in-district meetings, select meetings with local officials, hearings and conferences. The successful candidate must be available on-site in Springfield during legislative session days for monitoring legislative activities.
